Health and Safety

Our General manager is qualified at both at NVQ 5 Occupational health and safety and Nebosh certificate level. He also is a graduate member of IOSH

Our site managers/supervisors hold SMSTS/SSSTS certifications

Torlock provides (NPORS) trained Crane/Lift Supervisor/Slinger/Signaller personnel. In addition, we provide additional safety features such as safety decking (See Services)

Our health and safety arrangements are administered through OneNote and SharePoint to ensure that current site and company health and safety arrangements are both continually communicated and supervised to manage and resolve real-time site demands and issues.

Torlock is an accredited member of CHAS.

Sustainability

We are committed to minimising waste to landfill through reuse and recycling where possible by our own site waste management plans and minimising our own energy usage by involving all members of employees in educational and training initiatives.

Preventing waste & energy management through training and education is the way we do business.

Torlock holds an Upper Tier Waste management licence to ensure that our waste is managed from source to the next appropriate cycle of waste management.

Environmental Procurement

Timber and timber products form a significant part of Torlock activities; being a member of TRADA we therefore take an informed approach to ensure that a responsible timber procurement process is in place from our suppliers.

Our policy is to purchase from our suppliers wherever possible whose business approach is to procure their supplies of timber from well managed forest sources.

In order to ensure when purchasing timber & timber products we are choosing an environmentally aware supplier we look for registration of BMTRADA.

Quality

We recognise the importance of Quality Control in establishing efficiency in our activities and believe that high standards of quality are an integral part in providing our clients with a quality service.

To this end, we operate our own quality plan with snagging checklists and maintained records of quality and checks.

Our General manger is also qualified and trained to ISO 9001 lead auditor level and ensures that quality is continually maintained at the highest level throughout the company.
